Aloha!
Welcome Alexander and his family to Hawaii and our class! We now have 15 boys and 9 girls (24 students) in C1-C.
Aulani
Thank you to everyone for turning in your 2nd payment by the due date! Beginning January 31st, no refunds will be given. A final payment notice will be sent home at the end of the month and the remaining balance will be due on Tuesday, February 18th.
iReady
Students are continuing with the use of iReady. They completed the diagnostic before the break so their lessons may have adjusted to match those results. A new iReady log will be given so students can continue to keep track of their scores. It should be kept in the "Tech" section of their homework binder. The goals for third quarter are as follows:
Reading Fluency
The 2nd and 3rd quarter benchmark for fluency proficiency is 112 words/minute. By the end of the year, 4th graders are expected to read at least 123 words/minute. Please continue to help your child to reach proficiency by listening to and modeling how to read fluently.
Math Fluency
We are currently working on division with remainders and will be moving back into fractions soon. Students who know their multiplication facts have an easier time. We have access to Reflex Math until the end of February so take advantage of this opportunity while we have it. We currently have four students in our class who are considered 100% fluent in their math facts! Way to go Peyton, Cara, Kaila and Tate!
P-E-R-F-E-C-T attendance
Our class enjoyed an extra 5 minutes of recess last week for spelling PERFECT for the third time this year. Awesome! Each day all students are present and on time, we earn a letter. We are currently on 'P.' Help our class to earn our letters by leaving the house early and allowing your child enough time to walk to the classroom. Since our building is the furthest, it may take an extra minute or two so please keep this in mind. Students are considered tardy if he/she arrives after the tardy bell rings at 7:55am.
Reminders
