Hustle for Health
Please remember to turn in all monetary donations for Hustle for Health by Thursday, September 26th.
A yellow form was sent home the other week asking for volunteers and donations, and at the top of the form was a request for the anticipated school lunch count. Thank you to the families who have already submitted the form. ALL students must turn a yellow form in. If your child did not turn in the form yet, please do so by Friday, October 4th.
Inc Work
The end of the quarter is coming to a quick end. Any work on your child's inc sheet must be taken care of by Friday, September 27th.
Students who are all caught up by that date will be able to participate in end of quarter activities (TBD).
P-E-R-F-E-C-T
Hooray! Our class earned our first P-E-R-F-E-C-T award by having all students in the class in school on time seven times. The class enjoyed being able to go to the front of the lunch line last week. We want to strive to spell PERFECT as many times throughout this school year so please help our class with this challenge by having your child in school everyday no later than 7:55am.
Reflex Math
Last week we were learning about factors and multiples, which help us to determine prime and composite numbers. Students who are fluent with math facts have an easier time identifying factors and multiples. To assist with learning the basic multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12, we have been using an online program called Reflex Math. The subscription has been paid through a grant I received last school year and will expire in the second semester. While students have access to it, I encourage all students to spend time in class and at home practicing their math facts. Each student has their own user name and password. The link to the Reflex Math site is on our class site in the Math section. The goal is to spend time each day trying to get the green light. They can continue to play the games and practice beyond the green light, but do encourage your child to take breaks in between.
Aulani Update
A BIG mahalo to all the families for turning in the Aulani forms and deposit money by the due date! You guys are awesome!!! Information about the option to do individual fundraising will be sent home soon. We will be selling Cookie Corner cookies with a profit of $4/bag. Further information about additional payments and deadlines will be sent home soon as well.
End of 1st Quarter
If you know your child will not be attending school before the quarter ends, please let me know. The students will be wrapping up the quarter and have end of quarter assessments to take so as much as possible, please have your child in school.
