Aloha C1-C Families,
Please read the announcements below.
WebEx - Our first WebEx session is this Friday, April 17th. There were 16 responses I received. Since this is our first time, I wanted to accommodate everyone's schedule. Therefore, I will hold two sessions on Friday and will send a separate email letting you know which session your child will participate in if I received your consent. If you didn't get a chance to complete the permission/availability form sent out last week, please email me. Your child must have parent permission before they can join our WebEx meeting. In addition, please also go over the virtual learning guidelines with your child. Read the next section for further information.
Virtual Learning Guidelines - In preparation for our first class WebEx session on Friday, please go over the virtual learning guidelines with your child and complete the Google form. Sorry, I know you've been asked to complete many of these surveys and forms, but I want to make sure the students have a safe and enjoyable online experience. The second section of the form will ask about your child's availability for future WebEx meetings. Please click on the link below and complete this by Thursday, April 16.

Math Origo at Home - This week the focus is reviewing the concept of adding mixed numbers. If you didn't get a chance to play the game for Tuesday yet, you can use the opportunity to further engage in your child's math understanding by asking your child to figure out the difference between the two sums. Ask them to explain or show how they know. If the fraction can be simplified, ask your child if he/she knows what it would be (ex: 6/8 = 3/4). For Wednesday's problem solving ask your child to make a visual of the problem and make sure their representation shows the quantities from the story and what they need to do with the quantities. Review the 3 Reads Strategy with your child. They should have a copy of the strategy in their homework binder.
PRE Gmail - Please remind your child to check their PRE gmail account regularly. I have emailed them and many have not responded yet.
Go Noodle - I posted suggested GoNoodle activities for the students on Google Classroom and will work on posting the links on our class page too. If you get a chance, try them out with your child. I've done them with my two kids and it's more fun when we do it together.
Thank you for your continued support at home. I'm looking forward to seeing the students again this week! Have a wonderful day!
~Mrs. Au
